ImSoInLove asked:

My boyfriend (soon to be fiance’ :-D ) is enlisted in the active army.. Its been pretty hard on both of us, but we only have 19 days until hes done with OSUT :-) After his graduation hes coming home on leave. Ive read online and the recruiter told him before he went that the usual leave time can be anywhere from 3 to 10 days before you have to report. His graduation is in mid-july so ive taken 2 weeks off of work to go to his graduation and fly back with him to be here for a the ten days he could possibly have. Luckily when he checked online it said that he would be stationed at the base that is only 2 hours away from our hometowns! This is absolutely amazing considering 95% of the guys hes with are going to Ft Lewis all the way accross the country! anyway…. Like i said hes active and will be living and staying there, but we’re both confused because online it says his report date is August 24th which is over a month after his graduation. Obviously i would love that, but we dont know if its true or not seeing as he should only have a week or so… He asked his DS’s and one said thats just the date before you are considered AWOL and will be reported and that you would have to go before that, and another said that is when he would have to go… Either way he would only have to drive there, but is that date the real one? My theory is they just put a blanket date online and then give them their orders before graduation….. but then again im knew to this whole military thing :-)

thankyou !
