Peaceful Dove asked:

I found my Grandfathers wool army blanket with a tag in it that’s dated 1945. The blanket is in excellent shape but has been stored in a basement for years. How can I safely clean it?

Your best bet is to take it to the cleaners. You might be able to wash it in cold water, but line dry it after – not sure I’d trust it in the dryer.

Have it professionally cleaned and packed to store (unless you’re planning on using it).

Use Woolite. It’s good stuff designed to do just what you want done.
