lol I know this is a touch topic so wanna know what people think. But with todays deployments a soldier can be awarded various awards for acts he/she may have conducted while in combat.

Everyone knows that in the Army the blanket award is the ARCOM. Now with that being said…leaders are requesting DA form 638′s (Award Reccomendations) to be turned in waaaay before the deployment is over, in some cases I have heard 6 months out.

My complaint is why does my team have to recieve the same award “ARCOM” as soldiers who sit on the FOB all day..sleep in until 12pm..eat 4 hot meals a day..and the list goes on. My team has gone outside the wire every single day..conducting zone, area recons..joint ops with Iraqi Army Police..busting numerous weapons caches, busting Hide sights..finding valuable PIR..detained numerous AQI and cleaned up or A.O. but the only award they are allow is the ARCOM..same as fat JOE who dont do anything but eat sleep nplay xbox?!

I didn’t deal with this my last two deployments so maybe its just my current Brigade but I think this is horrible and tears down the morale of Soldiers!
