army blanket
Enigmatic J In her tree asked:

Necrid…. We`ll take that as a no! thank you
Prabhakar was that an attempt at being rude to me? I am not impressed.
It is a simple question which gives you the choice whether or not to answer. I am well acquainted with many good people as i was a support worker for many many years. Salute!

Not an army coat but as a child coats to supplement blankets when there was no central heating was the norm!!

  • Prabhakar G says:

Idid not appreciate the precise implication of the question. As all the answers show it is more or less an accepted practice. I do not know how could you have any misgiving that perhaps somebody may not have done it. In fact, you question suggests that perhaps nobody does so. It really shows that your acquaintance with people leaves much tobe desired.

In fact, had you asked ‘whether you ever take sugar;’ above 50 percent of the answers would have been negative.

  • Paul Hannan says:

Yes, in Germany 1956, in the field at 20 below zero

I was the eldest of three sisters and we all shared
a double bed. We didn’t have blankets we had army
overcoats from the rag and bone yard.
It was the end of WW2 and money was scarce.
When we get together we all laugh at the memory now.
