Brayden’s Mommy asked:

The reason I ask is b/c I have things to donate but I want to make sure that some of them go to a good home. Like my sons extra baby blankets. Its cold now and Im sure there are babies out there that need them. Do they give it to needy or sell stuff for money?

The Salvation Army is a non-profit organization. They do a combination of giving items to the needy and selling, but not for profit. Any money they would make off of selling items would go directly back into the charity to benefit the community.

They are a very worthy charity, and will not profit off of any donations.

I think they sell it for money that’s what they do where i’m from

My mother in law works at a salvation army. They do great things for people. What they do is when people donate things they will sell them cheap, every bit of the money they get goes toward helping people for an example right noe our salvation army is taking their money to give kids a christmas. They are buying new stuff for them and giving it to the parents at no charge. Also they pay peoples bills with the money if they need help doing so. I hope this helps you. The salvation army is a great place to donate anything………trust me.

well it can work 2 ways.

1.is they give things to needy family’s that can not pay for anything

2.They put them up for sell in the store for a very reasonable price.

make sure you get a tax deductible recite for your taxes at the end of the year.
