how old must you be to possess a knife in DC and California?
Simply what the title says. I want to know how old you must be to carry around a knife in DC and in California with a 3″ blade
Reason is that I have a Swiss Army Pocket knife its kinda like my safety blanket. I carry it everywhere because of its convenience. I just use the blade to open my mail and it has other things such as scissors, corkscrew, screwdrivers, tweezers, bottle&can opener, and much more. I don’t intend on someone to attempt to kill me.
I’m flying over to DC from California for a Field trip in Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Unit. We’ll be doing stuff such as competing for a national Competition and doing some site seeing. As you know, i feel like my knife is a part of me. I just don’t want it to be confiscated if I keep it in my luggage not carry on when we take the flight.
You can’t bring any type of weapon, (swiss army knife) with you while you fly. Either on your person or in your luggage. If I were you I would just leave it at home.
You can not carry your pocket knife on you or in your carry on luggage, however, you are permitted to carry it in your checked luggage (the luggage you give to the gate agent when you check in).

I carry my pocket knife that I’ve had since I was 7 with me in my toiletry bag (in my checked luggage of course) and I’ve never had a problem. As long as you check it there won’t be a problem.
