I have gently worn baby clothes I would like to donate?

army blanket
Lindsey T asked:

I live in Michigan, and I have a ton of gently worn baby clothes and blankets etc. Does anyone know of any charities I could donate these too. I would prefer it go somewhere where it won’t be resold such as salvation army and whatnot. A battered women’s home, single parent charity, etc. Any ideas would be great. I just want it all to go to good use because I know there are plenty of people who need it. Thanks!

Why would you wear baby clothes?

    hahaha just kidding

You already have great ideas for a destination. Call a couple of churches. They can give you addresses and locations of several places who really need these items.

Give them to a Crisis Pregnancy Center.

Contact local churches. They often will have a “clothes closet” where they get the clothes to people who need them. And, they do not sell them.

You may also try Planned Parenthood, Save-A-Life or any other pro-life group that helps new moms get started.

I don’t know about Michigan, but in Ohio, it would be Goodwill.

I like that…”gently worn”. contact your local social services agency or a church. they would know who needs them most. our community food pantry also distributes used clothing.

I would suggest that you put an add in the paper so that someone is aware that you are giving them to someone in need.

look up homes for battered women and children, or children of abuse. i found those to be the best charities to donate to, and they are not hard to find. usually, you can just look it up in the phone book. i also donate items of my kids clothing to daycare centers. they can always use such items. i hope this helped

    Hi Lindsey,
What a great kindly gesture, over here in the UK most non-resalable charity institutions collect ie: third world.
    Kind regards….

Your local churches will sometimes accept donations for people who are less fortunate. You may also try the Y or police station for locations. I think it’s a nice thing you’re doing, very thoughtful.

well, all thrift stores, like the Salvation Army, is a non- profit organization that if you work there, you don’t get paid, you just join to help, and ALL of the money goes directly to charity.

    More thrift stores are:
    Good Will
    Salvation Army
    America Thrift

so, if you give the baby clothes to the Salvation Army, every last penny goes to charity.
