Beaujock asked:

just got blanket partied, he ran to the duty hut to wake up the drill instructor, the DI opened his door, laughed in the recruits face, and slammed his door shut. this question is for marines and some army personnel, what causes someone to get blanket partied, and please explain how it is done?
noticw i asked, how a blanket party is done, i KNOW what it is, i never done it, it was the squad leaders doing it. and by the way, is it done in women basic training also?

somebody makes trouble and the whole troop suffers so they beat him up. the blanket is so he cannot say who did it.

  • Stuart says:

If you were REALLY at USMC boot camp, you’d know what a blanket party is and why.

Some day when you join the Marines, you’ll find out. Until then, keep dreaming.

a blanket party is a group assaut on a person in the night. Ordinarily, it is seen as a way to convince the victim to do something better. It is never effective. It was described in the move “A few good men” as a “code red.” It is a crime and the participants should be prosecuted. The drill instructor should also be prosecuted for failure to take appropriate steps in response to knowledge of the crime. You now have knowledge of the initial crime and the DI’s crime and are aslo obliged to take steps. Ask to see your local JAG to find out your obligations.

Someone gets blanket partied if their causing the platoon to get in trouble. Everybody screws up once in a while but some people are just down right pathetic. It is done many different ways but the idea is that you secure the person with a blanket and cause them pain either by punching or some other means.

Ask your Gunny for a demonstration. He will be happy to explain it to you.

It it a disgusting practice. I witnessed a quasi blanket party in basic training and myself and another guy jumped in and saved this guy. He really didn’t do anything wrong he just ****** at drill and ceremony.
Anyway, if you ever are in the military don’t ever participate in anything like this. The guys who did it in my basic training unit ended out getting sent to the disiplinary barracks in Quantico Virginia because one of them kicked this dude in the face and chipped his tooth. I know after they served their sentence in Quantico they got dishonoably discharged.
Assaulting another soldier is a serious offence and there are serious consequences.

It does and can happen to women in boot camp. Saw it myself.
