Is this Marine or Army?
My MIL sent our son a blanket for Christmas and we’re having a heck of a time figuring out if it’s Marine Corps or Army. I would assume she wouldn’t get him an Army blanket simply because my husband’s in the Marines, but who knows.

I know it’s hard to make out but does anyone have ANY idea? We’ve tried Googling old uniforms but cannot distinguish enough between the two.

Yes, Blondie, my husband’s mother. I agree that it is a neat blanket and we will use it regardless simply because it was from her.
She’s just very proud of my husband(HER SON) and is all about the Marine Corps so I just didn’t think she’d get an Army blanket(although it’s hard to tell which it is), but it really doesn’t matter enough for us not to use it.

The photo is blurry but if the cap device has the eagle globe and anchor it is USMC if it is just the eagle it is ARMY
Can you post a picture that isn’t so close so that we can see the whole picture on the blanket?

It looks to be Army WWII era.
Its Army. The cover has the army emblem. THe marines is generally going to have a EGA (Eagle globe and Anchor) and it might say USMC Marines or Semper Fi.
your mil? so that would be your husbands mom right? so its her own son serving in the marines…she probably didn’t even pay attention to which (army or marines) specifically it was. she probably just thought it was cute/neat in general for your son who has a father serving in the armed forces..
This is Army….uniform looks to be probably WWII era. It is a great blanket though!
i think it just looks like vintage military in general. don’t think they’re trying to portray a certain branch.
