Aimz S asked:

so i was skint back then.

how can i make his x-mas as special as ever??

i have a few ideas, btw he’s a little jack russell called pip.

* knit him a scarf, pyjamas, jumper, and blanket
* bake him some tasty crimbo treats, and make him a special christmas dinner
* get him an army style dog tag printed with his name
* get him a customised blanket
* make him a luxury bed/kennel
* hand make him a toy
* buy him a ton of toys
* get a plain dog bowl, and ceramic paints, then customise it
* make him his own stocking and x-mas decorations
* treat him to a new collar and lead
* buy him a nice x-mas coat for long walks in the snow

any more ideas?

Take him on an exercise expedition to explore a trail or a park for a day so he can be nice and happy for the holiday. Pets tend to be neglected during the holiday and doesn’t get enough exercise. You would be doing a jack russel a favor if you give him a good workout. He would love you forever.

    ARE YOU SERIOUS?

I don’t think the dog will care either way. Pick whatever makes you happy.

  • DagonHounds says:

You’re anthropomorphizing your dog too much. He’s not going to care about any of those things. If you want to do something nice for your dog take him on a nice long walk in a new place.

hun, your dog doesn’t know what day it is- so you really don’t need to go all crazy! Just give a treat, take him for a walk, and play with him. Just devote an entire day to making him happy. That would go way further than you making him something. He won’t know that you made it, just spend the time you would have on making some actually with him. Thats the way to a dogs heart- attention, love, and food.

How about you find an open space and create a dog apartment. Take blankets, baskets, food and water ( in the bowls of course) and assemble anyway you want.

Awh all of them are really good.

I have a Jack Russell and we just buy him doggie stockings and treats and toys and stuff. You have some really good ideas, I might use them (if that’s ok). I don’t think you need much more though!! My Jack Russell wrecks the kitchen and chews everything when we have treated him nicely then we have to go to work.school the next day and leave him.

peeeesssssssst !. let me tell you a secret……your dog has no idea that Christmas comes and goes.

He may notice the extra company and food and he will be glad when they leave and he gets over the gas. But he doesn’t conceive Christmas or the gift giving thing.

The gifts for him are for you. So give him what you want and he will be thrilled. He would rather just have your company.

  • krennao says:

Do you know dogs have no sense of memory? Your the one that wants the gifts. If anything just treat your dog right through out the year. If you want to get the dog something, save your money to make sure he gets his yearly check up at the vets.

if u can go on vation and suprise him OR have a friend take him on a walk then when he comes back he has a SURPRISE party!
Bake him treats, sow him stuff and buy LOTS of toys!
    Hope I helped!
BTW i am getting a dog today any tips?
    email me!

I don’t think the dog will care if his bowl is hand painted, just that it gets filled. He will probably be miserable wearing clothes, too. Just make a donation to the Humane Society, in his name.

All those are great ideas. How about taking him for a long walk somewhere in his new coat. I know my dogs LOVE going for walks, so that would make him happy :)

We just go down to the local wal mart and get them both a stocking of dog toys and individually wrap all the toys and let them tear into them and open them.

We go to the local petco and get our poodle a shirt and our mix a bandana (this will be her first christmas)

And Sadly we will be gone for Christmas but we will most likely be taking them with us. To see relatives

We are also going to take them on a vacation with us in the spring.

We feel the they appreciate just spending time with us. Gifts don’t matter so much to them.

  • LTigerRay says:

All of those things sound great. He should definitely have some type of coat or sweater for the winter and maybe some boots. Dogs always love toys too. Plus it keeps them from being bored and destroying something valuable in your house or apartment. I know of an on-line pet store that has some really cool and unique things. You might want to check it out — . I was talking to the owner the other day and they have some really nice blankets. They are fleece snuggle blankets with a Christmas print. They are on their website and they are only $10.00. I have ordered from them before and their stuff is really good quality. They have lots of toys too. I would definitely buy from them again. Check them out!
