What is the best way to store baby clothes for a long time?

army blanket
San Jose Mommy asked:

I want to store the baby clothes from my son and daughter for when they have kids. How do you suggest I do this?

Some of the outfits will be turned into a blanket for each child. Then some others are going to goodwill / salvation army. And the rest in storage for at least 20 years. Wow…that seems like such a long time.

I would recommend the Space Bag things. They work great!

Don’t bother, give them to charity. Today’s clothes will be well out of style c2029.

Hefty or Glad make large sized ziplock bags. Those are great and affordable.

Wash them, put them in a plastic box with a lid, and put them in the bottom of the closet until they get older and have kids of their own.

My son is 24. I’ve kept several precious items of clothing and his first stuffed toy in a plastic bag with a zipper that you get when you buy bedding. No mold. No mildew. I have just tossed it on a closet shelf everytime I’ve moved. The clothing is in pristine condition.
